11.25:
Dear Sir/Madam:
I'm writing to you to report a problem happened today when I made a booking via Agoda.com.
Last night I booked four nights in a hotel and paid by my MasterCard credit card issued by China Merchants Bank. The four booking id was 1040xxxx, 1040xxxx, 1040xxxx, 1040xxxx. Because my credit card is a US dollar account, I chose US dollar during my each booking and the four final price was US$25.89. What surprised me was when I pressed the final confirmation button, I was told that I was charged CNY 171.71 for each order! I then checked with my bank, they told me that my credit card was charged US$27.21 for each order, which is equivalent to CNY 171.71.
I'm very unhappy about this dodgy thing processed by Agoda. I used my MasterCard credit card which is a US dollar account to book four nights in a hotel room whose each price was $25.89 in US dollar and I finally was charged $27.21! Why did you agoda convert my USD payment to CNY without my consent? Just because my credit card was issued by a Chinese bank? But my credit card is a US dollar account card! I've used this card for many times to buy stuff in USD and this funny thing never happened before!
I think Agoda should refund me of this extra $1.32 for each order, because your system unnecessarily converted my payment from USD to CNY without my consent, and then my bank converted it back to USD again coz it's a USD credit card. These two conversions cost me this $1.32 for each order.
This is my first time to book hotels on Agoda. I hope it's not my last time.
Thanks very much for your attention!
